Topic: Describing clothes.( Fashion show)

❖ LANGUAGE: “wear, is wearing”; names of clothes and national costumes: clothes, socks, T-shirt, shorts, tracksuit, jeans, sweatshirt, trainers, cap, hat, shoes, anorak, pullover, mackintosh, kilt, beret, kimono, gloves; “is made from/ of/”, simple instructions: come to the blackboard, describe your colleague, close your eyes, find where is…

❖ Language focus: describing clothes- their pattern and colour.

❖ Culture focus: typical items of national dress from different countries.

❖ Activities: memory game, matching words to pictures ,understanding new words, dictation, information exchange.

❖ Materials: pictures on the board, signs, box- washing mashine, text, pictures given to students to fill them in, doll’s clothes, notebooks, exercise- books, handbooks.

❖ Objectives: ( students): By the end of the lesson the students will be better able to use names of different kind of clothes. They will have had oral practice of several words about clothes. They will be better able to use them accurately and in appropriate situations. Students will have had written practice in doing questionnaire, filling some piece of papers with clothes.

❖ Evidence: They will produce the language accurately and appropriately in drills and in response to questions.

❖ Aims( teacher) : I will be working on reducing my Teacher TALKING TIME , and getting students to listen more to each other.

❖ Language skills: listening for specific information, speaking- talking about clothes, memory game- washing mashine, describing the clothes of their colleagues- with closed eyes, writing- answering the questionnaire, writing – doing some exercises in exercise- books.

❖ Anticipated problems: I must get more oral practice about some kinds of clothes. Students may be in confusion about the meaning of : kilt, mackintosh, fez, dressing gown and the names of the countries. I must help the students to do the questionnaire, explain them some unknown words.

❖ Time guide: 45 minutes

LOOK BACK

➢ Teacher: Good morning/ afternoon everyone.
➢ Students: Good morning, Miss!

Repeat with students the names of the colours by showing them some things . For example: This is a book. It is red. Tell me what colour is the pen? Students: It is yellow. OK, so now tell me what colour is the pen? Students: it is blue.
