1

- Today we are going to get to know each other better.

- I know that some Polish students are just beginners in English and I hope that your German partners are better and as a team you will be able to do the tasks.

- You have dictionaries to help you.

2

-The first task is to find some information about your partner to fill in the questionnaire. Maybe you know some information and you don’t have to ask.

- You have to fill in your questionnaire and help your friend.

-When you finish you can tell the group about your partner.

( the teacher distributes the questionnaires)

Students work in pairs: talk and write.

3

-Now one of each pair can tell us about your friend.

-Thank you very much.

Students tell about their partners.

4

( the teacher distributes lists of proverbs)

-The second part of our lesson is about proverbs.

-This is a list of several proverbs in English and in

your own languages. Read the proverbs and check if they are similar in English and in your languages.

Students read and discuss.

5

-And now let’s play! One partner of each pair comes here, draws a piece of paper with a proverb and tries to communicate it to his/her partner.

You can use your hands, legs, different items, sing, mime, dance, but you can’t write or say the proverbs.

Who wants to start?

Students come to the front of the class and show their proverbs and their partners try to guess the proverbs and say them in English.

If the partner fails, the other pairs can help.

6

-Thank you for your work. You can keep the proverbs and play when you’ll have free time.

-Thank you and good bye.

-Good bye!
