AN INTERVIEW WITH MIŁOSZ GORZKO
Ania: Miłosz, I would like to ask you a few questions about your visit to the USA. What
interesting places did you see and which one impressed you the most?
Miłosz: I visited Chicago and a farm in Indiana. I liked the viewing tower very much. It’s really
huge, about 497 meters high.
Ania: What American customs seemed strange to you?
Miłosz: Generally, there was no difference between American and Polish way of living.
However, negative features like selfishness and egoism were often visible, and I didn’t like it
at all. American sense of superiority towards other nations was quite annoying. They kept
me asking questions like: “Have you got cars, computers, telephones in Poland? According to
them, we are still living in the Middle Ages!
Ania: How would you rate your stay in the USA on a scale from 1 to 10? Explain, please.
Miłosz: In terms of time management I would give 4 points. We were always in a hurry and
we rarely visited interesting places. In Indiana parliament (boredom!) we spent more than 2
hours. Luckily for us, there were comfortable armchairs, so we could sleep on them ☺.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed the trip and it was a good experience for me, so objectively I will
give 8 points for the visit.
Ania: Would you like to come back to the USA?
Miłosz: It depends. I wouldn’t go to the same place, but visiting some other States would be
exciting. So, maybe in the future …. Who knows…..?
Ania: Ok. Thanks for your time!
