Fact or Opinion ?

1. Preparation.

The main resources needed are:
- a picture of a girl`s bedroom
- dictionaries
- a set for each group

2. Launching
Select one of the statements to pin up on the board and the whole class discuss in English whether the statement is one of fact or opinion.

3. Instructions
Divide pupils in groups of 3
Give a set to each group
Tell the groups to read each card and discuss whether the statement is one of fact or opinion.

4. Managing the activity
Working in groups.
Teachers intervention is minimal.

5. Debriefing
Pupils feed back to the group as a whole and for each decision they should have a reason.

Follow-up
Pupils prepare their own versions of the exercise.
