Warm-up (7 min)
Talking about Christmas.
Children say if they know anything about Christmas in English speaking countries.
Comparing Polish and British traditions.
Presentation and practice (35 min)
Teacher presents new vocabulary using pictures and labels.
T asks children to repeat the words chorally, then – volunteers – individually.
T pins all the pictures to the board and asks children to pin the right label under each picture.
A game “What card is missing?” - children close their eyes, T hides one of the card from the board, children open their eyes and guess what card is missing.
T gives children hand outs with “Jingle bells”. They listen to the carol, then repeat the lyrics chorally and sing it.
T helps children to tell and explain what is the carol about. Some words might need translation.
Ending (3 min)
A game “What's in the bag?” - T asks children individually to put one hand in a bag with small Christmas things, choose one thing and guess what it is only by touching it.
